Two months after meeting with NFT holders in Florida, former United States president Donald Trump has confirmed plans to release another NFT collection, a decision he said was influenced by his supporters. Speaking to Bloomberg Businessweek , Trump said that he believes that a new collection will be successful judging by the performance of his previous collections which have had a considerable success on NFT marketplaces. Although Trump didn’t disclose when he plans to release the collection, he’ll likely launch it before November to take advantage of the ongoing hype around the upcoming US presidential elections scheduled for early November 2024.
An Unbelievable Spirit
According to Trump, he sold 45,000 NFTs in his previous collections, something he believes was due to the “unbelievable spirit” in the crypto space. The former president had previously said that the decision to create a fourth collection would be determined by supply and demand.
Trump’s revelation comes as he continues to embrace crypto and digital collectibles and when the crypto community is warming up to him as the next United States president. The crypto industry has poured millions of dollars into Trump’s reelection campaign.
Trump Doesn’t Want China to Lead
Apart from launching NFT collections and accepting crypto donations, Trump has promised to make the United States a favorable destination for Bitcoin miners and other crypto-related activities. Trump believes that the country not embracing crypto and blockchain gives China a chance to overtake it in the area.
With Trump disclosing that a new NFT collection is in the works, it’s to be seen whether his wife Melania Trump will also announce a new collection to ride on Trump’s reelection campaign.
