Pineapples are a delightful tropical fruit, providing a rich source of both manganese and vitamin C. They're typically cultivated in countries like Costa Rica, Brazil, the Philippines or Thailand, and can be enjoyed in both sweet and savoury dishes, or simply on their own. It also boasts a long list of health benefits.
However, slicing into this fruit can prove challenging due to its peculiar shape, tough exterior, and protruding leaves. But one woman, Anna Viktori, known online as Anna Knows, revealed her straightforward 15-second hack that results in perfect pineapple pieces ready for nibbling. Anna, who boasts over 61,500 followers on her TikTok account where she shares her simple kitchen and food hacks, recently posted her method for cutting a pineapple.
"Stop cutting it wrong!" Anna captioned the video, which showed a pair of hands peeling off the plastic label from the pineapple.
She then proceeded to tear off the leafy top of the pineapple with her hands. Following this, she used a large knife to slice off each of the shorter ends of the fruit.
While these steps might seem standard, Anna then unveiled her 'game changing' technique for cutting the remainder of the fruit.

Anna then positioned the pineapple upright on the chopping board before halving the fruit, resulting in two elongated halves of the pineapple.
She proceeded to place one of the fruit halves onto her chopping board with the skin facing upwards, allowing her to see the pineapple's natural segments.
Anna then began slicing the fruit at an angle, following the natural 'lines' that run between the segments in the skin.
Upon reaching the end, she rotated the fruit by 90 degrees before continuing to slice along the fruit's natural pattern, creating 'fingers' of pineapple that made an ideal snack.
In the video's caption, Anna penned: "Wait for it... this pineapple trick is a total game-changer."
Numerous viewers rushed to the comments section to express their opinions, with many applauding Anna for her straightforward technique.
"My mouth is watering right now," remarked one viewer, whilst another commented: "Just changed my life."
A third person added: "This is good for cookouts so people can grab as they go."
Nevertheless, several commenters highlighted that this approach retained the core, which many find unpalatable, within the fruit.
"What about the core?" one viewer asked. In response to this, another person suggested: "Great way to get more fibre in your diet."
A further commenter noted you could simply remove the core before beginning the diagonal slicing process.
