Aptos Labs has partnered with fintech firm Yellow Card to enable instant, gas-free stablecoin transactions across 20 African countries. 

The initiative supports the growing need for affordable and accessible digital finance solutions across the continent. This move removes gas fees for users transacting with USDT and USDC through Yellow Cards platform. 

As demand for stablecoins surges in Sub-Saharan Africa, the partnership aims to simplify cross-border and daily payments. It also reflects a broader shift toward practical, mobile-first blockchain applications in emerging markets.

Aptos Labs and Yellow Card Offer Stablecoin Access Without Fees

The collaboration integrates Aptos high-speed blockchain with Yellow Cards platform, offering zero-fee USDT and USDC transfers. 

According to Yellow Cards internal data, over 54 million Africans now engage with digital assets, signaling strong regional demand. Users in participating countries can now send and receive stablecoins instantly without the typical blockchain transaction costs.

Aptos confirmed that all transfers under this integration will have gas fees sponsored during the campaign. This feature is designed to streamline payments for families, businesses, and institutions handling cross-border transactions or everyday transfers. 

The Aptos network processes transactions with sub-second finality and consistently exceeds 11,000 transactions per second in live conditions.

Aptos Labs Delivers Mobile-First Blockchain Infrastructure 

Aptos Labs Head of Payments, Alex Heuer, stated the partnership aligns with Africas rapid stablecoin adoption . 

He explained that Aptos delivers the infrastructure needed to support real-time, high-volume financial activity. With transaction speed, scale, and zero fees, the network is optimized for regions with growing mobile and digital financial needs.

The integration includes support for Tethers USDT and Circles USDC, the largest stablecoins by market cap. 

These assets now form a key part of the new transfer system in Africa. The push aims to bridge the gap between traditional finance and decentralized systems by offering tools that work seamlessly in everyday scenarios.

Yellow Card Expands Stablecoin Utility Across Africa

Gillian Darko of Yellow Card noted that removing fees and delays helps increase access to affordable digital finance tools. This initiative aims to support local economies, facilitate international remittances, and improve the reliability of financial transactions.
